Jock Playle

obituary
Jock died peacefully on the 1st Feb 2025 at the Westbury Nursing Home.
Jock had worked for the CEGB at Barkley Power Station and sometimes also sailed with a bunch of ex-work mates. He hade been very involved in the setting up of the Exploratory in the Temple Meads building but that was taken over by @Bristol to his dismay. Their loss was our gain and Jock has pretty much run BSA from the time he became its secretary back in 1992? until his failing health in 2023. His knowledge of the Boat Charterers was encyclopedic and he was responsible for getting good deals for members. He was also our representative on the RNLI of which he was lifetime member.
Sadly our records of sailing trips does not go back to the 90s when we shared a number of memorable crossings to France from Hasler in Bavarias
