Future Trips

1.1The remainder of Jerzy Wieczorek’s curtailed week’s cruise from Plymouth on May 17th has been arranged for Friday 1st October – Monday 4th. Jerzy and all the May crew will take this up, joined by Phil Steele as Jeff Woolmer is now away working in Turkey.

1.2Phil Steele will skipper a trip on the weekend of November 5th - 7th (so that a ‘Fireworks’ trip could replace his ‘Christmas Lights’ trips of previous years). This is now fully booked at a cost of £110 per person. One first payment of £50 is overdue, and the balance of £60 will be due by October 1st.

2.Recent trips

Trip reports A reminder that Chris Wallace has asked for all members who provide trip reports to include the type and name of the boat, and the names of all crew, so that the reports can be completely listed and referenced on the website. Photographs sent to would also be very welcome.

At the July meeting Jeff Birkin gave reports of all three of his ‘Back to Sailing’ weekend training trips in July. All three are in this newsletter, plus inserts from a report sent by Ian Gamble on the second weekend. We also have the July report from Julia and Chris as they sail ‘Aremiti’ from Holyhead to cruise around the north Irish coast before heading to Scotland.. (They have now completed their summer cruise and are back home in Bristol – we hope to have a report of the Scottish part of their trip in the next newsletter.) Ewart Hutton gave a brief account of his 5-day Day Skipper course from Largs
