At the August meeting we welcomed new member Geoff Norwood.

1. Future Trips

1.1 Jerzy Wieczorek is doing a Yachtmaster training trip in September, which will be on a Jeanneau 37 from Hamble Yacht Charter at Mercury Yacht Harbour on the weekend of September 9 – 11.. Jeff Birkin and Dave Lloyd will oversee this. This is fully booked and paid, and joining information has been sent to all crew.

1.2 Due to a misunderstanding over availability there is a place available on Ian Collins’ week’s cruise from Neyland to Ireland on September 11th – 18th. Ian has an experienced crew already but if anyone else would like to join please contact Ian, tel. 07908 765893. With one more crew it would cost £305.

1.3 GSA have said that their boats will not be taken out of commission for the winter until the new year, and there is lots of availability in October and November for Plymouth and the Solent. We have two GSA skippers, Ian and Phil, so let us know if any GSA sailing is wanted.

2. Recent trips

At the August meeting Phil Steele gave the following report of his ‘skills assessment’ sail with GSA on their boat from Plymouth. Congratulations to Phil on being recommended as a GSA skipper.
