Future Trips
1.1Alan Howells will skipper a long weekend from Plymouth on Thursday September 3rd - Monday 7th aiming for Tréguier. This will give another opportunity for prospective skippers to plan and navigate a Channel crossing. Alan intends leaving at 21.00 on the Thursday evening, so crew will not need to take holiday that day. Following a cancellation there are two places available. The cost for the four days, including gas charge, will be £185 per person with 6 on board, or £222 for 5.
1.2Alan will also skipper a weekend from Plymouth on October 3 – 4. A number of members have expressed interest in this and we may be using two boats, with Ian Collins taking one of the boats from Plymouth Sailing School which he has been using frequently in the last couple of years.
2.Recent Trips
At the June meeting there were reports by Alan Howells on a 10-day trip to Brittany including the Helford – l’Aber Wrac’h race, and by Jeff Birkin on the trip he skippered from Milford Haven to the east coast of Ireland. Becky Goddard reported on a cruise in the Greek islands from Kos, skippered by Bob Buchanan. These reports follow.
Sonia Russé reported on a Greek skippered charter; this report has already been distributed, along with Julia and Chris Wallace’s second report of sailing ‘Aremiti’ from Crete to the Greek mainland, ‘Aremiti in June’.
