2.Recent Trips

At the June meeting we had a double act by Ian Collins and Don Hirst to report the 9-day charter from Hamble to Honfleur, Caen and St Vaast. This followed the pattern set by, possibly, the Two Ronnies, Morecambe and Wise, or even Laurel and Hardy – take your pick. An attempt at an edited version follows.

After this Kath gave a brief account of what should have been a week’s flotilla cruise with Rhian on the French Mediterranean coast, in the area of Le Lavandou, Cavalieres and the Iles d’Hyeres, (Porquerolles and Port-Clos). Unfortunately, an island anchorage became untenable when the Mistral blew up, and after a stormy return to a mainland marina they remained stormbound for a few days.
