Hello everyone,

A quick update and reminder that we have no meetings for the months of July and August .

Our next meeting will be in September.

One of the items for the meeting that we want to discuss is the way forward for the association .

Why you may wonder ?

Well, numbers at the meetings are few every month. Additionally, our membership is reducing . Both of these are a concern for the future of the association as we get towards the end of the year and our annual AGM in October.

It has come to a point where we need to consider how the club can be maintained.

Do we consider not holding monthly meetings on the barge every month? There is cost to be looked at , is it worth the fees we pay monthly and annually?

Do we need to consider the need for keeping the club going in its present format at all?

Could we just have a social get together which would be agreed by those wishing to just organize a sail?

Nearly all sails are now using GSA boats, meaning the need to organize it through our own club is not as frequent .

It is quite a lot to consider and no decision is to be taken lightly .

What would be very helpful is your opinions and possible options for discussion at the September meeting or by email to any of the committee members .

That gives us an opportunity to have the future ready for our AGM in October .

Please help us with your thoughts , it’s key that members are included in looking at a way forward for BSA that works for us all.
