At the meeting on October 10 we welcomed new member Peter Newland. We also welcomed as guests and prospective members Alice Boorer, Carly Darnell, Sue Freathy, Mike Appleton and Ben Roost.
Future Trips
Gordon Ogden will skipper a midweek Solent sail on the Phoenix YC boat Spellbinder on November 21 – 23 (boarding on the afternoon/evening of Sunday 20th). Will anyone who would like to join this trip please contact Gordon, tel. 01275 462473, email gofmo18@talktalk.net
1.2As last year, Phil Steele would like to skipper a “Xmas Lights” trip from Falmouth, on the weekend of December 17 – 19th. (This is a week later than last year, in the hope that the lights at Fowey will have been switched on!) There are three places available for this trip; will anyone who would like to go please phone or email Jock (0117 973 8855, jockplayle3@waitrose.com).

A summary of all trips reported at meetings is given here, or a full report, if available. Members reporting at a meeting are reminded that a full version of the report should be provided, either written or emailed. If this isn’t available, then only a short summary will be given in the newsletter. Full reports will be included in the next newsletter following receipt.
At the October meeting Jeff Birkin reported on the trip that replaced the planned cruise to the Scilly Isles, and Bob Buchanan on his trip which replaced a planned cruise to the Channel Islands – both affected by stormy weather. These reports follow, with one by Sue Fowle on a midweek sail from Plymouth skippered by Gordon – Sue was unable to present it at the meting as she was still on her way home from sailing in Croatia.
