News and Notices

2.1Social events.

Our thanks once again to Kath for setting the Commodore’s Festive Quiz at the December meeting. This was won by one point by Gordon and Chris’s team which seemed to comprise most of the crew for the March Spellbinder/Quartette sail.

Our next meeting on January 11th 2016 will be our annual social evening, with a buffet and raffle (all free). Alan Howells has again offered to organise the buffet. Will anyone who can help with providing food for the buffet (all costs will be reimbursed) please contact Alan, tel. 0117 944 2618.

2.2Membership renewal.

All memberships expired on October 31st and a renewal form was sent to all members. About 10 membership renewals are still outstanding. If you haven’t yet renewed please bring the form with your subscription to the meeting on January 11th. Alternatively, either send it with a cheque to the Treasurer, Mrs R A Goddard, 29 The Old Silk Mill, Coombe Lane, Shepton Mallet, BA4 5XA, or pay by bank transfer to the account of Bristol Sailing Association at Barclays Bank, account number 40853062, sort code 20-13-34, using reference BSAsub and your surname. If you pay by bank transfer please email the Treasurer becky@thesilkmill7.fsnet.co.uk to advise her and give any change of contact details.

IF YOU HAVE DECIDED NOT TO RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP IT WOULD BE MOST HELPFUL IF YOU WOULD EMAIL THE SECRETARY jockplayle3@waitrose.com TO TELL US.

The January meeting on the 11th will be the deadline; after that it will be assumed that those who have not renewed have decided not to rejoin BSA.

3.Recent Trips

At the December meeting there were reports on the November and December midweek sails on Spellbinder, skippered by Gordon Ogden and Chris Watts. Gordon reported on both of these, but the first report below is by Sue Fowle, which Gordon gave in Sue’s absence.
