2.1First Aid
Those members who gained their RYA First Aid at Sea certificates at our last training session in 2013 will need to renew them by May 26th this year. We will repeat the arrangement with Brian Howell, who carried out the session on board Sabrina in 2013, on Sunday May 15th. The cost will again be just £25, compared to the commercial rate of about £75. We have about 12 names down for this and there is room for a few more. Will those who wish to renew their certificate and have not given their name please let Jock know (tel. 0117 973 8855, email jockplayle3@waitrose.com .
The course will start at 10.00 am until about 4.00 pm. The £25 will be payable on the day.
For those who can’t make the 15th, there will be another opportunity on the following Sunday May 22nd in conjunction with Shirehampton Sailing Club, to be held at the Shirehampton clubhouse. There are 2 or 3 places available here for BSA members. Will anyone who would like to go to this one please contact Bob Hayes, tel. 0117 942 2906.

Bill Barnes reported that he and Jade have bought a Malo 39 with the ultimate intention of sailing round the world. Since acquiring the boat they have sailed it back to the south coast and made some short trips in the Solent. The first long distance voyage planned will be to Wilhelmshaven in Germany, and then….head south!
